A newly curated greatest hits album featuring a well-rounded selection of signature and popular tracks from the 14 albums Lisa Ono released during her EMI era (1997–2006) is now available on the super-high-end analog “100% Pure LP” series, which was finally revived last year! This collection showcases the essence of Lisa Ono’s artistry, featuring not only Brazilian classics like “The Girl from Ipanema,” “Overflowing with Love,” and “Summer Samba,” but also a wealth of standard numbers gathered from around the world under the theme of a “musical journey”—including “Smile,” “Jambalaya,” “Besame Mucho,” “Autumn Leaves,” and “Blue Hawaii”—all rendered in gentle, soft bossa nova arrangements. 100%PureLP is a special Made in Japan product launched in 2012 and a pioneer in modern high-fidelity records that has garnered significant attention worldwide. One of its key features is the use of "uncolored virgin vinyl," which eliminates all coloring agents—such as carbon—commonly used in analog records that can affect sound quality. By using only pure, straight polyvinyl chloride as the raw material, it ensures significantly higher molding stability. Another key feature is the use of "metal master pressing." By omitting the metal master and stamper typically used in the standard analog pressing process and pressing directly from the metal master, it enables the creation of grooves with overwhelmingly faithful reproduction. However, due to its lower durability, the number of pressings is strictly limited. Furthermore, this release uses a 45 RPM speed—typically used for 12-inch singles—rather than the standard 33 RPM for LPs. While this results in a two-disc set due to the reduced recording time per side, it allows for wider and deeper grooves. The higher rotation speed also improves stability, creating significant advantages in terms of detail reproduction and richness of volume. The source material consists of WAV files newly transferred from the original analog master tapes, or digital track-down masters prior to CD mastering. We have mastered these as flatly as possible to preserve the freshness and dynamic range of the sound, pursuing a natural sound that remains faithful to the original recording.
