This was the second album (released in 1088) produced by the band with Mitchell Frame as producer, following the previous album "Don't Dream It's Over". Neil Finn, the band's main songwriter, was under a lot of pressure because of the worldwide success of "Don't Dream It's Over," but he overcame the pressure with the help of his brother Tim. He produced a string of quality pop songs, including "Better Be Home Soon," which became a top 20 hit in the U.S., and "Into Temptation," which became a top 20 hit in Holland. The album was highly acclaimed for its high density of pop royalty, mainly medium-tempo songs, and reached No. 40 in the U.S. The album hit No. 1 in Australia, No. 2 in New Zealand, and No. 10 in Canada, and was so popular that it swept four categories at the ARIA Music Awards in Australia.
