Known as the directorial debut of Rob Reiner, known for the blockbuster hits "Stand By Me" and "Lovers' Premonition," "Spinal Tap" was a cult movie masterpiece released in 1984 in the U.S. and Europe. This soundtrack collects many of the classic songs of Spinal Tap, the legendary fictional heavy metal band that appeared in that film. The songs are sung and performed by three actors who actually play the members of Spinal Tap, and the album, which will be released in September 2025 to coincide with the release of "Spinal Tap II: The End Continues," the band's first new film in 41 years, will also feature guest appearances by music superstars. The album also features original versions of four of Spinal Tap's best-known songs, re-recorded with guests from the music world's superstars.
