This album features Elton John's live performance with Ray Cooper (percussionist) at the Rainbow Theatre in London over a six-day period from May 2-7, 1977. It contains 13 songs selected by Elton himself. Many of the songs are rare live, and four of them were performed live for the first time (3, 9, 10, and 11). The first half of the show was Elton's piano performance, and the second half was with Ray Cooper. The first half of the show featured Elton playing the piano, and the second half featured Ray Cooper. At the time, Elton's concert venues were arenas and stadiums, so this historic live performance of six consecutive nights in a venue with a capacity of 3,000 was a rare treat. (C)RS
