Cande y Paulo is a group from Argentina that became a worldwide sensation in 2017 with a YouTube video that received over 12 million views, and was signed to the prestigious Decca Records in 2020. This unique duo of keyboardist Paulo Carisso and double bassist/vocalist Cande Buasso, who have released three singles on Decca, has finally released their long-awaited debut album. The album was produced by legendary producer Larry Klein, who has worked with Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock, Melodie Gardeau, and many others. Recorded in Los Angeles, the duo's organic and sentimental beauty is expressed to the fullest with the tasteful playing of such virtuosos as Anthony Wilson (g) and Victor Indrizzo (dr).Included on this album are jazz standard "Summertime," Velvet Underground's classic "I'm a Waiting Man," Neil Young's "Sugar Mountain," James Blake's cover of Feist's "Limit to Your Love," and Leonard Cohen's hidden classic "Treaty. Cohen's hidden masterpiece "Treaty". The simple, jazzy approach that is typical of the band brings out a new character from each song. The emotional arrangements of "Baro Tal Ves" and "Preguntan de Donde Soi," both from their native Argentina, are a must-hear.
