This is the third album by the Pat Metheny Group (PMG), released in 1982, and is a masterpiece that marks a major change in both sound and members. First of all, this is the first album to introduce guitar synthesizers. In terms of members, the bass player was changed from Mark Egan to Steve Rodby, and Brazilian percussionist Nana Vasconcelos joined the band. The album also features some of Pat Metheny's most important repertoire, including "Follow Me" (track 2) and "James" (track 6).
