The complete sonatas, which were recorded live (except for Vol. 8) with such a high degree of perfection that they could not be considered live recordings, have fascinated fans around the world, and have been highly acclaimed worldwide, winning the prestigious Italian Abbiati Award, as well as the Record Academy Award in Japan. For this achievement, Schiff was made an honorary member of the Beethoven House in Bonn in 2006, and the first volume of the 2-CD set contains Sonatas Nos. 1-4. First release on SHM-CD. First SHM-CD release, commemorating his visit to Japan. Recorded live in Zurich on March 7, 2005
