Introduction
The time is Sengoku Ransei, a time of rivalry between rival warring factions.
Nobunaga Oda, the demon king who chanted "Tenka Fubu" (take down the whole country), was defeated at Honnoji Temple by his follower, Mitsuhide Akechi. After Nobunaga's death, Hideyoshi Toyotomi invaded various regions with overwhelming military might.
Toyotomi's forces besieged the Odawara Castle of the Hojo family, a prominent family in the Kanto region, which continued to resist. Among their forces were Mitsunari Ishida, who swore allegiance to Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu Tokugawa, also a lord of Mikawa.
Meanwhile, Date Masamune, the leader of Oshu, who had heard of the invasion of the Hojo clan, marched on Odawara Castle, aiming for his own high ground. He was enthusiastic about the seemingly foolhardy competition. In Kai, Yukimura Sanada was thinking about the battlefield when he received a report of Date's advance on the Takeda forces.
Looking beyond the turbulent times, the times now move on!
