Description:
HOPE FOR TOMORROW," a live recording featuring the rhythm section that participated in the famous ballad album "PEACE" and gorgeous strings, will be released! Sadao Watanabe, a living legend who embodies the history of jazz and continues to be a leading saxophone player on stage even at the age of 92, has released a live recording of his "HOPE - Sadao Watanabe with Strings" tour in December 2024. The album "HOPE FOR TOMORROW" (read: Hope for Tomorrow), which was recorded live during the "HOPE - Sadao Watanabe with Strings" tour held in December 2024, will be released! The new album "HOPE FOR TOMORROW" will be released in Japan on March 31, 2012, and will be the first new studio album "PEACE" released last April, which has been a long seller. HOPE FOR TOMORROW" contains selected songs from the "HOPE -Sadao Watanabe with Strings" tour, which took place in five locations throughout Japan. In addition to the popular Watanabe compositions of "Butterfly," "Cycling," "Only In My Mind," and "Sonho De Natal," "I Fall In Love Too Easily," which also appears on the album "PEACE," was performed colorfully this time with new strings. The song was performed with a rich colorful atmosphere. The album also features 11 songs in total, including "In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning," a popular standard sung by Frank Sinatra, "Samba Em Preludio" by Baden Powell, and "I Concentrate On You" by Cole Porter. The rhythm section is made up of musicians from the solid Japanese-American mixed quartet that participated in the "PEACE" album. Russell Ferrante (p) is the keyboardist for the popular fusion band Yellow Jackets, and in recent years has had many sessions with Sadao Watanabe. Ben Williams (b), winner of the Monk Competition, has played with Pat Metheny, Wynton Marsalis, and Jose James, and is regarded as one of the most important bass players in the contemporary jazz scene. The quartet features Kazutetsu Takemura (ds), Watanabe's trusted drummer in the regular Japanese quartet, as well as Takayuki Oshinane (strings), a 20-member ensemble. The addition of Takayuki Oshibane's strings, which make up a total of 20 members, makes this a magnificent and powerful live recording.
