Anaklasis, a label established by the Polish Music Publishing House (PWM Edition), one of the largest music publishers in Poland, founded in 1945 in Krakow, has released its second collection of new Polish carillon works that have caused a great sensation. The label has been an element of the Polish musical space for centuries, yet it is still an exotic instrument, and its potential has hardly been recognized. A sequel to "Contemporary Carillon" (ANA016) released in 2022 is now available! In the historic city of Gdańsk, where the carillon is installed in the City Hall Tower and St. Catherine's Church, the city and the Gdańsk Museum, in cooperation with the Polish Music Publishing House (PWM Edition), have been conducting an annual project to commission and premiere new works for the carillon by active composers, starting in 2019. ～Following the previous release of five works from 2019-2021, this year we will hear new works by six composers commissioned and premiered in 2022-2024, which are completely different from the previous works.The performance is by Monika Kazimierczak, who has been an enthusiastic promoter of carillon culture since her previous work. She studied music theory, choral conducting, and church music at the Academy of Music in Gdansk. She also completed the Dutch Carillon School, began learning the carillon in 2000 in a course organized by the Historical Museum of the City of Gdansk, has been playing the Gdansk carillon since 2001, and officially became the city carillonist in 2018. He has won prizes at international carillon competitions in the Netherlands, including Almelo (2003, 1st prize), Fenloh (2004, 2nd prize), and Zwolle (2013, 3rd prize), and is president of the Polish Carillon Association and head of the Gdańsk Civic Choir.
