Multipiano Ensemble

Description:

The long-awaited new recording by the multi-piano ensemble of orchestral works by four composers! Three years after the world premiere recording of "Mozart: Complete Concertos for Two Pianos and Orchestra" (PCDA68367/CDA68367), a world premiere recording of the unfinished fragments of "Larghetto and Allegro", Israel's The new recording by the four-member ensemble, the Multi-Piano Ensemble, is long-awaited and much anticipated. This release features works for multiple pianos and orchestra by Mendelssohn, Moscheles, Schubert, and Liszt, including Mendelssohn/Moscheles' "Fantasy and Variations on a Theme by Weber" in its original version for two pianos and orchestra, and a recording of Tommel Tommel, a member of the Multipiano Ensemble. All of the tracks are the first recordings in these versions, and are as remarkable as the previous works, including Tomer Lev and Israeli composer Arje Levanon's re-imagining of Moscheles' "Grand Duet" in an orchestral arrangement. The Multipiano Ensemble is an Israeli ensemble founded in 2011 as a project under the Buchman-Meter School of Music (BMSM), which is jointly run by Tel Aviv University and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The ensemble is a unique ensemble specializing in "multi-piano" compositions, ranging from four-handed duets to multiple keyboard instruments, or combinations of multiple pianos and other instruments, and works on original works for multi-piano, various arrangements, newly discovered works, and completed compositions. The performance, featuring renowned Israeli pianist Tomer Lev (President of BMSM), has attracted international attention. Tokyo M-Plus
