Kiveli Derken, a gifted German pianist, plays "Piano Quintet" with her Sukhtetzlav siblings! Kiveli Derken is a German pianist who has attracted attention as a child prodigy, winning first prize at the International Grotrian-Steinwerk Competition six years in a row. She and her sister, pianist Danae Derken, have started a duo and are especially active in the field of chamber music, and since 2015 the sisters have been the founders and artistic directors of the Molyvos International Music Festival on the Greek island of Lesbos. Josef Suk (1874-1935) is one of the most important composers of modern Czech music after Dvořák and Janácek. Kiveli Derken's Suk album, full of the charms of the late Romantic period, couples his Life and Dreams (Life and Dreams), a collection of 10 solo piano pieces published in 1909, with the Piano Quintet, written by the young 18-year-old Suk in 1893 (and published in 1915).The piano quintet features the Tetzlaff siblings Christian & Tanya Tetzlaff, Timothy Ridaut, Florian Dondaler, and other virtuosos for a white-hot ensemble.
