Franz Schubert, composer of beautiful songs and piano pieces, left behind a large number of works during his short life of 31 years, only about a quarter of which were published. He did not receive support from aristocrats or patrons, nor did he become particularly famous, but he was blessed with good friends who enabled him to write many masterpieces of songs, chamber music, symphonies, and piano music. This album traces his footsteps with well-known pieces such as "Mas," "Lullaby," and "The Devil King," as well as music from his lesser-known operas.
