Bach album by Georgi Dimitrov, a promising newcomer who won the first prize at the first "European Bach Guitar Award" competition held in 2022 (Aiyo Yamashita won the third prize at the same competition). 2000 Born in Bulgaria, Dimitrov began playing the guitar at an early age, and his talent was admired by Paco de Lucia.He studied at the National Academy of Music in Bulgaria, where he received numerous awards, and later at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, where he also took classes in baroque guitar and viola da gamba. In this album, he performs his specialty, J.S. Bach's works arranged for guitar. The album opens with Suite No. 4, BWV 1006a, which Bach himself arranged for lute from the Solo Violin Partita, followed by the Solo Violin Sonata No. 1, arranged by Barrueco, BWV 998, which can be played on either lute or harpsichord, and finally the Chaconne from the Solo Violin Partita No. 2, BWV 998. Finally, the chaconne of the solo violin partita No. 2 builds to a grand climax. (Naxos Japan)
