Robert Farnon is a Canadian-born conductor and composer who joined the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation at the age of 19, serving as first trumpet in the Percy Faith Orchestra. He then turned his attention to composing and arranging, writing music for Paul Whiteman and André Kostelanetz. During World War II, he became the conductor of the Allied Forces (SHAEF) Canadian Forces Band, performing in England and elsewhere, and he has since made England his second home, creating numerous works in a variety of genres and performing with numerous musicians that have had a strong public impact, earning four " In 1996, he won a Grammy Award in the category of "Best Instrumental Arrangement" for "Lament" with J.J. Johnson. This album features some of his biggest hits, including "Jumping Bean" and "Colditz March. The Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Adrian Leeper, will perform these familiar and beautiful melodies. Naxos Japan
