Known for his style that varied according to the year of composition, his catalog of works is crowded with a variety of pieces ranging from lyrical moods to avant-garde compositions. The virtuoso Tianwa Yang, who previously released Rihm's "Complete Works for Piano and Violin" (8.572730), has shown a deep commitment to the composer, and his "Works for Violin and Orchestra" from this album shows an even deeper love for him. is the earliest of the three works, with the violin weaving a mysterious melody through the shocking percussion sounds of the opening piece. The "Third Music," premiered by Michael Gielen and Gottfried Schneider, is also a thrilling work with extensive use of percussion instruments. The music is filled with a sense of urgency. The "Painter's Poem," dedicated to Renaud Capuçon, is a work from 2014. This one is known for the beauty of the mysterious orchestral sounds intertwined with the lyrical melody, and is the most popular violin concerto written in the 21st century. Naxos Japan
