The Amadeus Guitar Duo and the Duo Gruber McClure met at a past music festival and have been friends ever since. Both of them enjoy works from various genres and thought that bringing their specialties together would make for a wonderful concert. The concert opens with a graceful dance "Telepsichore" by Praetorius, a composer of the early Baroque period, followed by a fandango by Boccherini, a piece by Giuliani, and a piece by one of the performers, Kavanagh, before arriving at a passionate piece by Falla. The final piece, Borodin's "From the Steppes of Central Asia," is arranged by arranger Kazuho Tsuboi, and each of the four guitars plays an active role in the arrangement, making for a very rewarding listening experience.
