Description:
Born in 1967, guitarist Jens-Uwe Popp joined the "David Orlovsky Trio" in 2005 and has been enchanting audiences with his fusion of traditional klezmer music, classical and jazz, but before that he collaborated with mandolinist Jochen Ross. Since 1997, they have collaborated primarily on Scottish folk music and 20th-century works. The album features a variety of works in different styles, from pre-Baroque works by Scarlatti, Dowland, and Bach to granados, folklore, and original compositions, but the beautiful, delicate sound created by the guitar and mandolin brings a nostalgic feel to every piece. In order to capture their spontaneous dialogue, only three takes were recorded for this album. Naxos Japan
