[CityPop SACD Hybrid Series, Vol. 3] AB'S, a powerhouse band representing Japan’s CityPop/AOR scene, releases their landmark debut album—originally released in January 1983—in a long-awaited SACD hybrid format! This masterpiece was born when the cream of the music scene at the time—including Makoto Matsushita, Yoshihiko Ando (PARACHUTE), Naoki Watanabe (SPECTRUM), and Kazuo Okamoto (SPECTRUM), who had all contributed to Fujimaru Yoshino’s solo album released the previous year—came together at Yoshino’s invitation to form the band. In addition to “GIRL” and “DJANGO,” which were released as singles in Japan, “DEJAVU” was released as a 12-inch single in the UK and became a smash hit. This release also generously includes two rare bonus tracks: “GIRL (Single Edit)” and “DJANGO (Single Version).” The SACD was created using the 2022 remastered audio—recorded at 96 kHz/24-bit from the analog master—archived from the original source. The exquisite sound is vividly brought back to life with the highest possible sound quality.
