Description:

This is the third compilation of the ultimate smooth jazz compilation with music selected and commented by music writer Toshiki Nakata (who supervises and writes for AOR AGE, a magazine specializing in AOR). This 2-CD set contains 30 tracks carefully selected from Warner Music's best recordings. Includes 5 songs that have never been released on CD in Japan, with lyrics. DISC1 is instrumental and DISC2 is vocal. The instrumental section begins with George Benson & Earl Crew's great collaboration "Jamaica," followed by a selection of AM and AM tracks by fusion greats such as David Sanborn, Joe Sample, Larry Carlton and Grover Washington, Jr. and a cover of Miles Davis' Scritti Politti "Perfect Way," Danny Hathaway's instrumental classic "Valdez in the Country," as well as three songs never before released on CD in Japan, and a selection of Brian Culbertson's and Wayman Tisdale's EWs. The album also includes an EW&F cover by Wayman Tisdale, and "A Very Good Thing" by Rick Browne, a leading trumpet player in the smooth jazz world. The vocal section begins with Al Jarreau's "Mornin'," a number that could not be more appropriate for a morning situation. The first CD release in Japan will feature Grover Washington Jr.'s "The Look of Love" featuring John Lucien, Bobby Lyle's "A Moment in Time" with Kevin Leto, Eric Benay's cover of TOTO's "George-Posie" with Faith Evans, and the last track, "Runnin' to Your Love" by Heather Mullen, which was recorded at the age of 14. -The first two songs to be released on CD in Japan are Heather Mullen's "Runnin' To Your Love" and Neil Sedaka's 60's hit "Breaking Up Is Happening," which Renee Olstead performed with Peter Cincotti as a duo at the age of just 14. Breaking Up Is Hard to Do," which Renee Olstead performed with Peter Cincotti when she was just 14 years old. Have a refreshing day, just like the morning sun.
