The sixth release in the FUSION/AOR ARTISTRY SERIES from Tower Records is the world's first 2-CD set of the masterpiece "Casino Lights" featuring the legendary live performance at Montreux in 1981, planned and commented by Hisakazu Kanazawa, well-known for his work on Light Mellow. The world's first 2-CD reissue of this masterpiece, "Casino Lights: Legendary Live at Montreux Jazz Festival 1981". Disc 2 is the first CD release in Japan. Casino Lights" was produced by the famous producer Tommy Ripuma, and it is one of the most famous live recordings in the history of fusion music. It is a monumental live document that took place in July 1981 at the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and the year 2021 marks the 40th anniversary of the show. Disc 1 is the well-known "Casino Lights" recording, which was first released in 1982, the year after the event, and has since become a standard live recording that conveys the excitement of the thriving fusion scene at the time.When it was first released on CD in 1989, four additional tracks by Larry Carlton, Yellowjackets, and others (sound sources that were intended for the 2-disc set when originally released) were included, bringing the total number of tracks to 12. Disc 2 is the first CD release in Japan. It was released on CD overseas in 1991, the 25th anniversary year of the Montreux Jazz Festival, and had been a lost recording since then, although some fans were aware of its existence. It has since become something of a lost recording, although it is known to some fans. The songs on the CD include the classic "Room 335" performed by Larry Carlton with members of the Yellowjackets, and the famous instrumental "The Visitor" by the Larsen-Fayton Band, performed by Neal Larsen with his own band and Robben Ford on guitar. This is the most significant feature of this release, and has been long awaited by some fans for re-release. The 24-bit digitally remastered sound source and high-quality SMH-CD specification bring back to life the passionate performances after 40 years.
