TBC Big Road Race Revived! The race will be reissued on DVD with the cooperation of Tohoku Broadcasting System, Inc. and Sugo Co. Kenny Roberts and Eddie Lawson, the master-disciple duo! The year 1983, when the 11th race was held, was a season of fierce battles between Kenny Roberts and Freddie Spencer in the World Grand Prix. Roberts retired from the World Grand Prix after that year. Eddie Lawson moved from the U.S. circuit to the World Grand Prix in 1983, and in his first year he and Roberts became teammates and mentors. The TBC Big Road Race was his first appearance on a Grand Prix machine. Keiji Kinoshita, who had been battling with Roberts for the past few years, crashed while chasing Spencer in the Japanese Grand Prix motorcycle race a month before this race, and was forced to withdraw from the race due to injury. Kinoshita and Tadahiko Taira, who fought for the All-Japan 500cc title and won his first championship, along with veterans Sadao Asami, Shinichi Ueno, and Hiroyuki Kawasaki, will challenge the two GP riders.
