A collection of chamber music works by Latvian composer Vilnis Schmiedbergs. Violinist Magdalena Geka has been nominated for the German Classical Music Prize "Opus Klassik," and pianist Iveta Tsarite and flutist Ilona Meyer are musicians who have performed with her before. Vilnis Schmiedbergs is a composer who belongs to the same generation as Pēteris Vasks, Romuals Calsons, Meyer Einfelde, Maartinš Brauns, and Georgus Peretzis. After three years of choral conducting classes, he studied music theory with Zintals Kriavinsch and composition with Carlis Tenne. After interrupting his studies for military service, he returned to the Latvian National Conservatory of Music (now the Latvian Academy of Music) in 1970 to study with Adolphus Skulte, from which he graduated in 1975. His works include songs and choral music, chamber and instrumental music, orchestral music including symphonies and concertos, and symphonic band music.The composer's honest style is based on the pursuit of harmony, the confirmation of human values, the importance of spirituality in accordance with the Christian faith, and tradition and history. All of the pieces in this collection have been recorded for the first time in the world. Tokyo M-Plus
