Description:
J-Fusion is gaining renewed recognition, and the movement is finally gaining momentum. Artists and albums are drawing keen attention from music fans both in Japan and abroad. First-time reissues and CD releases are revitalizing the market. Another wonderful album has returned: "The Light Staff," a sophisticated, pop-infused, urban fusion group with a crystal-clear sound. Their only remaining album, “The Light Staff I,” is being released on CD for the first time. Remastered using the latest technology, it will be released as a UHQCD. Released in November 1985 on the Electric Bird label. Formed around guitarist Hiroki Miyano and organist Senji Takahashi, who debuted in 1981. Other members include Ken Watanabe (B), Akio Fujita (Sax/Fl), Hideki Nakamura (Ds), and Mataro Misawa (Per). The lineup also features guest artists Charito (Vo) and Soichi Noriki (Key), making for a truly stellar cast. Hironori Miyano, who made his solo debut as a master of the acoustic guitar and released three albums, This likely marked a turning point in his career as an artist. In this new environment, he started from scratch—composing and crafting the sound—alongside Takahashi, a player he knew well. The resulting sound is a refined pop style, and the band has completed an album that showcases a wonderful ensemble performance by all members. In addition to instrumental tracks, three of the nine songs feature vocals by Charito, with lyrics written by Miyano himself; the melodies and vocals evoke a sense of tenderness. The album strikes a well-balanced and pleasant blend of instrumental and vocal tracks.
