Kirin Uchida

Description:

This is the first album spun by composer and cellist Kirin Uchida, who transcends genres such as classical, jazz, and tango, using cello, violin, erhu, and DTM. It was released under the name Yoshihiro Uchida. The album offers a wide variety of Uchida's expression, including "Calling High," which pursues an oriental and abstract sound with improvisation, and "SPEEDSTER," which offers an electric and superbly technical sound. ~I have loved making things since I was a child, and I played the piano in elementary school and was in a band in high school. I learned DTM (computer music) at that time and discovered the joy of creating music by combining various sounds. Then, at the age of 18, I discovered the cello, and from that time on, my goal was to use the cello to create my own music, and to combine it with DTM to create my own unique music. HEAVEN" is the accomplishment of one of my goals and the start of a new life's work. We hope that these works will be a fresh healing and stimulation for everyone. (Kirin Uchida)Kirin Uchida ProfileBorn in Osaka Prefecture. At the age of 18, he began playing the cello while studying to become a composer at Kyoto Pharmaceutical University. He then entered Tokyo University of the Arts and completed the master's program at the same university, receiving the Acanthus Music Prize of the Graduate School. He has received numerous awards, including the second prize at the 11th Viva Hall Cello Competition, as well as the unprecedented three Aoyama Music Award Newcomer Prize and the Aoyama Music Award Baroque Saal Prize. Currently, he is active in a variety of performances that transcend genres, focusing on recording activities and collaborating with classical and jazz musicians, tango musicians, and Japanese instrumentalists.
