Description:
Ernst Jandln (1925-2000) was a performer who said, "Poetry only comes alive when it is recited. In order to preserve the memory of his impressive voice and poetry, composer Christian Mutspiel composed "vom Jandln zum Ernst" for the jazz orchestra ORJAZZTRA VIENNA. Jandln's voice, extracted from the recording, is used as a soloist in this fictional live performance. Mutspiel actually performed with Jandl in the 1980s, and even after his death, she performed more than 100 duet works with his voice. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Yandle's birth, who was also a jazz aficionado, Mootspiel has created a work with 17 musicians and the poet's voice.
