The opera "The Triumph of Honor" is an opera buffa by Alessandro Scarlatti, a master who laid the foundation for the Neapolitan school of music that dominated the European opera scene in the 18th century. This work is a drama of seduction, flirtation, and love affairs between four couples, whose love is typified by the commedia dell'arte, a classic character in Italian comedies. The musical language has been inherited from Porpora, Pergolesi, Paisiello, Cimarosa, and others of the Neapolitan musical school, which spanned the Baroque and Pre-Classical periods, and reaches as far as Mozart. This performance features singers who excel in baroque singing, including Rosa Beauvais, Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli, Giulia Borcato, and Raffaele Pae.Enrico Onofri, a baroque violin virtuoso and conductor of diverse activities, performs vibrant music against a colorful stage backdrop by contemporary Italian pop art master Ugo Nespolo, and Alessandro Scarlatti's masterpiece, celebrating the 300th anniversary of his death in 2025 is vividly revived on the contemporary music scene.
