Description:

The world of French music of the early Romantic period, guided by the original ancient musical instruments more than 200 years old],From 1796 to 1810, she became the wife of Napoleon during his breakthrough period, and in 1804, when her husband was crowned Emperor of France, she became his queen, but she was not blessed with children and officially divorced Josephine de Boarnay ( 1763-1814), who became queen in 1804 when her husband became emperor of France. A lover of the arts with a uniquely keen sense of beauty, she held weekly music concerts at the Palais de Malmaison, her mansion in the Paris suburbs. Her daughter Hortense (who later married Napoleon's brother and remained Queen of the Netherlands until 1810), a daughter of her ex-husband who had been executed by the revolutionary government before meeting Napoleon, also played an active role, honing her skills as a singer and composer. In this disc, three French-speaking musicians including Aline Gilberaix, who is a master of the harp and piano, have created a program with a wide selection of French music of the early Romantic period. The "Joy of Love", which continues to be popular across the centuries and national borders, is performed in the style of the composer's lifetime, among the popular composers of the time such as Jadin and Pleyel, the famous singer Gala, who attracted attention even before the Revolution and reached the height of his fame during the Empire, and Plantard, who also wrote a mass in memory of Marie Antoinette after Napoleon's downfall. Rainer Arndt, a master instrumentalist himself, delivers an exquisitely engineered performance that brings out the hidden sound of the ancient instruments of more than 200 years ago. Naxos Japan
