A French version of Mozart's masterpiece, performed by a fresh orchestra of ancient instruments! This is a groundbreaking project to reexamine Mozart's masterpiece opera with a historical French translation of the libretto, an ancient instrumental orchestra, and leading European singers. In France, Mozart's operas were performed little by little after his death, and "Abduction from the Hermitage" became the second "Mozart Opera in Paris" after "The Marriage of Figaro" premiered in Paris five years earlier in 1798 (the same translation used at that time is also used here). The Chateau de Versailles Spectacles has already successfully performed "The Magic Flute" (CVS030) conducted by Hervé Niquet in 2021, and this time they will perform it in the Royal Opera House at the Palace of Versailles, where they have made great strides in recent years. This time, Gaëtan Jari, a specialist in Baroque opera who has made great strides in recent years at the Royal Opera House, will lead the sound of a fresh old instrument orchestra.Michel Faure, who himself will take the role of Selim, the jailer, will give a classical and stylish direction, and the front-line singers, including Vidal, Valiquette, and Blondère, will show off their skills to the fullest.
