The world of Bach expands with a new charm through transformation through the beautiful sound of a brilliant instrument. Italian violinist Marco Serino, who plays both modern and ancient instruments and was a member of I Musici, has been a trusted advisor to Ennio Morricone, the master of film music. Serino, who is also a Bach scholar, has traced the formation of various works, restoring and reconstructing them, and the scores he has prepared have been used in recordings by Giuliano Carmignola and Concerto Cologne. In this solo recording, made with Amati's famous instrument and Torte bow, he arranges two pieces: the famous "Toccata and Fugue," which has been suggested to have been violin music, and the "Suite for Unaccompanied Cello," which has often been arranged in solo violin version since the 19th century. The program begins with Partita No. 2, originally a work for unaccompanied violin, followed by the Toccata and Fugue with their impressive high register and dispersed chords, and then moves into the world of arrangements where the ideas that were thought to be inseparable from the cello's range are unexpectedly heard with the baroque violin. The cello is a very important part of the program.Serino's performance is truly brilliant, sublimating the beautiful sounds produced by the skillful control of the instruments into an appropriate musical interpretation without letting his own singing spirit overflow.
