The London Handel Players, which was founded in 2000 by a group of the best players in the British classical music world, has begun recording Telemann's "Paris Quartets" in their entirety. The "Paris Quartets" include the "Quadri" (6 pieces) published in Hamburg in 1730 and the "New Quartets" (6 pieces) published in Paris in 1738. Telemann's first and last trip to Paris was in 1737, and it is said that he wrote down the pieces he played on that trip. The latter alone is sometimes referred to as the "Paris Quartets," but this project includes the "Quadrille. As the name suggests, it was written in four voices and consists of an ensemble concerto form, a chamber sonata (sonata da camera), and two French-style dance suites, each of which caused a sensation among Parisian musicians who saw the score, which utilized the individuality of the instruments while using the representative styles of the time. The London Handel Players, who have a wealth of experience as soloists and members of ancient music orchestras and ensembles, will perform the pieces. Naxos Japan
