The piano duo of Fiammetta Talluri and Ivo Varbanov is highly acclaimed for their wonderful ensembles in Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" and "Petrushka" and Brahms' Waltz cycle. This disc includes two Mozart concertos for two pianos. The seventh is originally a concerto for three pianos, but Mozart's own arrangement for two pianos is performed. They are backed by the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Mukhay Tan and use the "Phoenix Model" of Steingraber, a German piano manufacturer based in Bayreuth. The orchestra gave a brilliant performance, making full use of the instrument's characteristic "grand and soft sound reminiscent of an orchestra.
