Description:
Pervo Järvi and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra present two "Pelléas et Mélisande" recordings. The first recording is an interesting one, combining two pieces from "Pelléas et Mélisande" based on Maeterlinck's play. Schoenberg's symphonic poem for orchestra, written between 1902 and 1900 after Debussy's successful opera "Pelléas et Mélisande" (Pelléas and Mélisande), follows the storyline and is structured like a symphony in a single movement. Fauré's dramatic music, on the other hand, was published a few years before Debussy's opera, and the suite version (here, the four-part version excluding the "Melisande Song" with voices) was written with a small two- wind orchestra and includes "Sicilienne," one of Fauré's most famous works with its many familiar melodies.Pervo Järvi accurately organized Schoenberg's huge orchestration and complex score, while making the strings sing profusely and the highly skilled winds provide core accents and firm contours, achieving both a mellow, rich worldview and a tight, solid form. In the Fauré, the orchestra brought out the beauty of the work to the fullest with its clear, transparent sound and clean expression. This is an album in which one can fully appreciate his sensitivity, which is both sharp and soft, heard in both modern and French music.
