Giovanni Antonini、Haydn (1732-1809):
Description:
Three substantial works that show the transition to the masterpieces of the latter half of his career. The mixture of thrills and depth is typical of Antonini! Haydn, the "father of the symphony," wrote more than 100 symphonies over a period of nearly 40 years, leading his pupil Beethoven to break new ground in the same field. The "Haydn 2032" project will record all of Haydn's symphonies, sometimes with related works, by 2032, the composer's 300th anniversary. Since the project began in 2014, the conductor and performers have attracted attention for their brilliant and insightful new interpretations. For the fifteenth installment of the project, which has reached the midpoint of its careful and successful development, we have selected three substantial works by composers in their 40s and 50s, when the fruition of Haydn's creativity in the Marquise of Esterházy, the center of his compositional activities, was attracting attention from remote areas. Antonini's baton will shed all the light on the charm of Haydn's most skillful use of dramatic writing derived from the stage music that thrilled the court theater, and the thrilling balance between folk tones and intellectual sophistication. The Basel Chamber Orchestra's mastery of ancient instruments in No. 50, with its natural brass and timpani, No. 62, in which all movements are in the same key, and No. 85, the masterpiece of the "Paris Symphony," which is known as the favorite of Queen Marie-Antoinette of France...all of these works are performed with great virtuosity by the Basel Chamber Orchestra, which is known for its mastery of ancient instruments. The series also features background commentary based on the latest research (in three languages: English, French, and German, with a full Japanese translation including supplementary information on the domestic edition), and an extensive booklet with many beautiful photos of the themes. The booklet is also enriched with many beautiful photographs on the theme. Please enjoy the three Haydn pieces that will make you realize the unfathomable depths of Haydn's style. Japanese translation of the commentary on the domestic edition by Tatsuo Shirasawa, Naxos Japan.
