Description:
Born in Birmingham in 1950, Derek Scott's orchestral works include a chamber orchestra project in the 1970s that specialized in contemporary music, where he actively performed new works and won three awards as a composer. In the 1980s, however, he began to question his own activities and turned to pop music, playing in rock bands. Later, he was recognized for his research into the history of "light music" in England, particularly the influence of German operettas on Anglo-American musicals. After retiring from his research position in retirement, Scott one day came across some of the young writers' works and sketches of them, and found that they resonated with him today. Of his two most recent compositions, "Fibration Fantasy" expresses his experience of an irregular heartbeat with a unique beat. Pavane" was written in memory of the victims in Ukraine. Naxos Japan
