The "Winds of Berlin" is played at the end of the Berlin Philharmonic's summer season Waldbuehne Concerts. This is the second collection of overtures by Paul Linke, the composer of this piece. Following the first album (555428), you can fully enjoy the beautiful melodies of Rinke, a much-loved composer in Berlin. The album opens with the overture to "Madame Luna," a comic opera about Berliners in the world of the moon. Led by a lively introduction, the elegant waltz, march, and other melodies that color the work appear one after another. One cannot take one's ears off the music for even a moment. The overture to "The Blue Picture," a one-act comic opera premiered in 1906, a stand-alone overture, and a waltz are among the other works in this collection. As in the first CD, Ernst Thais and the Frankfurt-Brandenburg State Orchestra are experienced performers of Johann Strauss II and Kahlmann's comic operas. Please enjoy their perfect performance.
