The Complete Mendelssohn String Quartets by Van Kuyck Q, Vol. 2Formed in France in 2012, the quartet won the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition in 2015, released a series of albums on the ALPHA label centered on Mozart, and made a successful first visit to Japan in the spring of 2019 The Van Kuyck Quartet's second and complete collection of Mendelssohn's string quartets is now complete. The quartet continues with the pathetic String Quartet No. 6, written at a time when Mendelssohn was trying to overcome the death of his sister Fanny, followed by No. 4 and No. 5, written at the height of his activity.
