The third video release from BSOrec, the independent label of the Bavarian State Opera. New production, Opera "Mavra/Iolanta"! This film is a recording of the 2019 graduation performance by the trainees of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera, which boasts one of the highest standards and achievements among the many opera training centers in Europe and has nurtured numerous international talents. The program is the newly produced opera "Mavra/Iolanta" directed by Axel Ranisch, a popular German actor, film & stage director. The ambitious production alternates between two compact operas, Stravinsky's love comedy "Mavra" and Tchaikovsky's emotional "Iolanta," which is considered to be the beginning of the neoclassical era, before eventually merging them together. The small orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera, conducted by the up-and-coming Russian-born female conductor Alevtina Joffe, will provide the backing, and the young and talented singers from around the world, including Anna El-Kashem as Palasha in "Mavra," Miryam Mesak as the title character in "Iolanta," and Long Long as Vodémon, will perform the role of the title character.
