Description:
Estonian composer Heino Eller. He studied violin at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and played in several orchestras. He composed about 40 orchestral pieces, and as an excellent educator, he trained many students, including Tubin and Pelto, and is called the "father of Estonian modern music. In addition, a total of 206 piano pieces by Errell have been identified, which is one of the largest groups of Estonian classical music. Most of them, however, have never been performed and have been forgotten, and this eighth collection, with the exception of "Evening Song," is also a world premiere recording. The album contains pieces written over a half-century period from 1912 to 1960, and all of them have a lyrical atmosphere reminiscent of Grieg. Pianist Sten Rassmann, who has devoted himself to the promotion of Eller's works throughout the series, gives a sympathetic performance. Naxos Japan
