He moved from Albania in the Balkans to France at a young age, and has continued to build a rigorous career with such overwhelming skill that he released an unabridged live recording of Paganini's "Caprices" (AECD0985). Teddy Papavlami is a gifted musician who has continued to build a hard-edged career. He is a master of the new age with a wide range of perspectives, and his autobiography was translated into Japanese in 2016 ("Fugue over a Solo Violin," translated by Yukiko Yamauchi, Fujiwara Shoten). The new recording is a more period-approach interpretation, with a thoroughly restrained use of vibrato and a rethinking of the form of the sound.
