This is a collection of piano works by Estonian composer Heino Eller. Although he studied violin at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and was active as a violinist in several orchestras, Erelle also left more than 200 wonderful works for piano. These are an important part of modern Estonian piano music, but unfortunately they are rarely performed. This seventh collection contains works written over a period of about half a century, from 1912 to 1961. All of the pieces except for "Five Preludes" were recorded for the first time in the world, and among them, "12 Bagatelles" from 1961 is the most important piece with a Russian title. This collection of pieces, which boldly uses folk melodies, was distributed throughout the Soviet Union as an educational tool for children. The twelfth piece, "Caprice," is an adaptation of a movement from an orchestral suite composed in 1940. Throughout the series, Estonia's leading pianist, Sten Rassmann, gives a superb performance.
