John Copley's production, which, along with Zeffirelli's production of the past, is highly acclaimed as one of the most famous productions from Covent Garden, has been renewed in 2017 with a new production by Richard Jones. Compared to Copley's production, which boasted nearly half a century of history, the overall stage has been simplified, which allows the singers' performances and songs to shine through with a freshness.
