Description:
The woodwind cornet (German name: Zink) is a wind instrument popular during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, which consists of a wood or bone wind slightly larger than a recorder with a brass mouthpiece. Despite its popularity in Europe 400 years ago, it was not easy to play, and professional players were relatively slow to appear, even during the revival of ancient music. However, thanks to the legendary Bruce Dickey, who emerged in the 1980s and fostered a number of virtuoso players, the scene surrounding this instrument has expanded dramatically in the 21st century. The extremely talented Ingisiano from Italy is truly one of Dickey's students. With his excellent breath and fingerings, this new recording allows us to enjoy to the full the solo masterpieces of the great composers played by the elite players of the past. The simple composition with only one keyboard instrument is one of the charms of this recording.The sharp Italian harpsichord and the sound of the Positif organ, which accentuates the woodwind cornetto, also add to the richness of this fine album, which allows the listener to fully enjoy the musical world of old Italy.
