Born in St. Petersburg, Russia and currently based in France, pianist Marina Samson-Primachenko began playing the piano at the age of four and became a pupil of the virtuoso pianist Genlif Neigaus, where she has continued her studies. Her previous albums of Schumann and Mozart were highly acclaimed. For this album, she will explore the similarities between the works of her own composer, Pasternak, and the early works of Scriabin, whom she says he highly admired. Pasternak, known as the author of "Doctor Zhivago," was exposed to Scriabin's music as a boy and became his pupil. Samson-Primachenko's thick sound enhances the work. Naxos Japan
