Shigehiko Kawaguchi's second hit album! Five years have passed since the first release of "From Goya's Spain," and it is with a sense of "fresh start" that I am finally releasing the second volume. It has been a long time since the last work, partly due to an unexpected pandemic, but during that time I have been able to encounter many works that I myself had not yet discovered. In the 18th century, many Spanish composers were active in Spain, but in the 19th century, more and more musicians went to other countries such as France and England. In the 19th century, however, an increasing number of Spanish composers traveled to France, England, and other countries. What kind of music did Spanish composers bring to the world in such a period of time? I hope that my recording will serve as a bridge to the Spain in which Goya lived, just as my previous work did. --This is the second volume of a project that has received a great response by collecting unknown piano music from Spain, a country that Shigehiko Kawaguchi loves very much. This time, too, he has been meticulous in the selection of music and the choice of instruments, allowing the audience to enjoy the lovely charm of each piece. Naxos Japan
