He and his colleagues perform these "niche composers," whose works are often buried in the stream of history, with great relish, and ask the listener about their true value. Beethoven's Serenade, also included in the program, is performed by Matica in an arrangement for flute, viola, and guitar. The arrangement is a real highlight of the concert, and is a testament to Matica's virtuosity as an accomplished guitarist.This is the second release in the Vienna series by Kazunori Seo and Shunsuke Matsuo, following their previous release "Biedermeier - Wien 1820! This album focuses on the "Night Music" of around 1810, as depicted by Czech guitarist Wenzel Tomas Matica (1773-1830).
