Celebrating the Summer Sonic 2026 Performance! To commemorate his visit to Japan, master artist David Byrne’s latest album is being re-released on LP with an obi strip! David Byrne—a one-of-a-kind master known as the frontman of the legendary band Talking Heads, who is also active as a musician, writer, film director, and visual artist. His latest album, released in 2025, is being reissued in a Japan-exclusive LP edition with an obi strip to commemorate his appearance at SUMMERSONIC 2026 and his upcoming Japan tour! David Byrne, who led the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band Talking Heads, has been honored with numerous accolades, including Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, and Golden Globe Awards. The Broadway show *American Utopia*, based on his 2018 album, was adapted into a film directed by Spike Lee and released in 2020, generating massive buzz worldwide. This new album, released by Byrne in 2025 as his first project since signing with Matador Records, brings together a lineup of longtime and new collaborators. Featuring an all-star lineup of guests—including St. Vincent, with whom he collaborated on the 2012 album *Love This Giant*; Paramore’s Hayley Williams; *The Smile*’s drummer, Tom Skinner of The Smile, and percussionist Mauro Refosco—who also appeared on *American Utopia*—are among the star-studded lineup of guests. The album was produced by Grammy-winning producer Kid Harpoon, known for his work with Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus. Furthermore, the arrangements for the tracks were handled by members of the New York-based chamber music ensemble, the Ghost Train Orchestra. The result is a highly creative work that fuses David Byrne’s signature pop sensibility with rich orchestration.
