This is a 1969 album by a female session singer who was active in the UK and popular among mod fans! Madeline Bell, a singer from New Jersey who sang backing vocals on many recording sessions including the Rolling Stones' "Heartless World" and Donovan's "Barabajagal", released this album on Philips in 1969. This is one of the rarest and most popular albums in her discography. The opening number "Help Yourself," a more Motown-esque version of a Jerry Ross song by Jay & The Techniques, the title track, which features a hidden Van McCoy classic, Lulu's hit "To Sir With Love," and John Paul Jones' "Hold It," are all featured on this album. The title track, "Help Yourself," is an opening number that is a bit of a townie tune, while "To Sir With Love," a hit by Lulu, and "Hold It," a song provided by John Paul Jones, are all performed by Arthur Greenslade, Keith Mansfield, Ian Green, and other top-notch musicians, creating a prestigious yet soulful sound.
