The young Taj Mahal's energetic first album, created with the help of Jessi Ed Davis, Ry Cooder, and others. Taj Mahal's debut album, "Taj Mahal," released in 1968, is an energetic fusion of old and new blues. Incorporating songs by such well-known artists as Sleepy John Estes and Robert Johnson, Taj Mahal's distinctive guitar playing and vocals stand out, and his musical style has already been established in this album. The album marked an important start in his career, and included contributions from Ry Cooder and Jessi Ed Davis. The recording took place in August 1967 and was produced by David Rubinson. The album also features Machar himself on vocals, harmonica, and slide guitar, and includes songs such as "Leaving Trunk" and "Celebrated Walkin' Blues," all of which epitomize his style. Bonus tracks include a single song released in 1966 by The Rising Sons, the band Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder were in. Includes obi commentary. Commentary: Koichiro Tatei
