Description:
An anniversary reissue of the Brand New Heavies' classic "Brother Sister," including "Dream on Dreamer" and "Midnight at the Oasis," is released by London Records to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its release. It also includes a number of previously unreleased, remixed, and other valuable bonus tracks. Brother Sister" is the third album released in 1994 (following "Heavy Lime Experience") by Brand New Heavies, a popular band that led the acid jazz movement in the 1990s. It was released in the UK on London Records/ffrr and in the US on Delicious Vinyl. Featuring Endia Davenport on vocals, the album reached #4 in the UK. The album was a breakout hit, bringing the band's name to the world at large. The album features some of the band's best-known songs, including "Dream On Dreamer" (with guest appearance by Amp Fiddler) and a cover of Maria Mulder's "Midnight at the Oasis.Los Burritos," which was only available on the original US release; previously unreleased demos "Pocketful of Bass" and "Put Yourself In My Shoes" in a different version; "Baby Don't Use Me," the B-side of the single; "Touch of Your Love," which was only available on the cassette that accompanied the magazine; a remix of "Back to Love (Luke Mornay's Homemade)" by David Morales and Roger Sanchez; and a new remix of "Back to Love (Luke Mornay's Homemade)" that was created especially for this project. The bonus tracks include "Touch of Your Love," a remix by David Morales and Roger Sanchez, "Back to Love (Luke Mornay's Homecoming Mix)," which was newly produced for this project, and others.
